Grenaa is Djursland's largest city, and is a well-equipped shopping and trading city with approx. 200 speciality stores. In the shops you will find a wide selection of branded clothes, shoes, handicrafts, flowers and more. Three pedestrian streets meet in the town square and from here the shops are located in a unified, closed pedestrian street environment. When hunger strikes, the city has a wide variety of  cozy cafes, restaurants and diners.

PS. In 2012, Grenaa was named Denmark's "hyggeligste" trading town.

On a walk around the city you can, among other things, see the many different sculptures, beautiful old houses, and you can regularly see art exhibitions from both local as well as national artists. On the town square is Grenaa Church, which contains one of the finest organs in Northern Europe, in addition to a highly acclaimed carillon with 42 bronze bells.

Close to Grenaa city center is "Åbyen" - an artificial island in the river Grenåen surrounded by canals. The river path stretches from the town to the harbor and on the way there are several supermarkets and shops. Here, nature also begins with forest, heath and well-developed trails for hikers, cyclists and horseback riders.

The port of Grenaa consists of 4 port environments, with i.a.  fishing port and modern marina. At the marina there are two restaurants and an Italian icecream cafe. From here you can enjoy the view of Grenaas 7 km. long beautiful sandy beach.
