At Grenaa Strand Camping we are advocates of holidaying in Denmark. With more than 28 million foreign tourists in Denmark in 2019, we think there is no better proof that Denmark is a great holiday destination at any time of year. We often focus on the summer holidays, but as a camper, or cabin guest at Danish campsites, there are many weekends, short breaks and everyday getaway options that we may forget about in our daily lives.

At Grenaa Strand Camping, we often see families with children surprised by how much they managed to relax and enjoy themselves during the spring holiday weekends, especially since they don't have to spend a few days travelling back and forth to the resort, and so make the most of the days.

Camping close to Djurs Sommerland and many other great attractions, also gives families with and without children many choices for activities when you are a guest at Grenaa Strand Camping. In addition to the numerous activities on site, there is also something for everyone in the surrounding area. Visitors to the major attractions in the pre-season will not have to spend part of the day queuing at the rides, and will have room to immerse themselves in sharks, monkeys or polar bears, depending on where you go.

Summer in Denmark

As lovely as it is to holiday in spring in Denmark, there's no getting around the fact that the Danish summer is something special. Freshly dug Danish potatoes, strawberries with cream, swarming dragonflies and picnics with the family in fragrant green grass or on a walk on a white sandy beach. The children playing, swimming, finding summer holiday friends, and the parents finally just relaxing in the sun with a good book, or listening to a podcast. When you camp with us, you are camping close to the commercial town of Grenå, where cafés, speciality shops and cosy courtyards exude holiday and cosiness.
