The pirate ship

Grenaa Strand Camping offers an impressive 24 meter long pirate ship that serves as a playground for children of all ages. The ship is equipped with climbing challenges, observation decks in the masts and play opportunities both above and below deck, ensuring hours of imaginative play and physical activity.

Swimming pool

Grenaa Strand Camping offers a large, heated outdoor swimming pool which is open during the summer months. The pool is approximately 30 meters long and also has a separate children’s pool. It is centrally located on site with changing facilities close by. The pool is used at your own risk without a lifeguard.

Outdoor Pirate Golf

Grenaa Strand Camping has an 18-hole pirate-themed mini golf course that offers fun for the whole family. The course is open to everyone, even outside the campsite. Equipment can be rented at the reception and after the game you can relax with an ice cream or refreshment in the campsite café.

Indoor Pirate Golf

Grenaa Strand Camping has a 12-hole indoor pirate golf course with artificial grass and beautiful pirate-themed murals. The course is suitable for both children and adults and can be used in all weathers. Equipment can be rented at the reception and the course is open to everyone, even outside the campsite.

The beach

Grenaa Strand is one of Jutland’s best beaches, known for its fine white sand and child-friendly, shallow coastline. The beach stretches for several kilometers and offers ideal conditions for sunbathing, playing and relaxing. Guests at Grenaa Strand Camping have direct access to this beautiful beach, making it easy to enjoy a day by the sea.

Multi-purpose sports court

Grenaa Strand Camping offers a multi-purpose sports court ideal for ball games such as football, basketball and handball. The court is accessible to all guests and is centrally located at the campsite, close to other facilities. It’s a great place for both children and adults to be active and have fun together.

Trampolines

Grenaa Strand Camping offers a large covered trampoline with six separate jumping fields, ensuring fun and safe play for children in all kinds of weather. The trampoline is centrally located at the campsite, close to other play facilities and is free to use for guests.

The playroom

Grenaa Strand Camping has a cosy indoor playroom, perfect for the little ones on rainy days. The room is filled with fun toys and activities to stimulate children’s imaginations. The play area is free for campsite guests. Parents are encouraged to supervise.

Activity room

Grenaa Strand Camping has an activity room with table tennis, table football and other fun games, perfect for family fun on rainy days. The room is open daily during the season. Parents are encouraged to supervise children during play.

Jumping pillow

Grenaa Strand Camping has two bouncy castles, one large and one small, perfect for children of all ages. The bouncy castles are close to the playground and other facilities, and guests at the campsite can use them for free. Parents are encouraged to supervise for a safe play experience.

Kids Racing

Grenaa Strand Camping offers “Kids Racing”, an exciting activity for children where they can drive electric mini-racers on a specially designed track. The activity is open daily in high season, the price is 20 kr. and is paid at the coin slot in the car. Parental supervision is recommended to ensure a fun and safe experience.

Mooncar

Grenaa Strand camping offers fun activities for children with our mooncars. These popular vehicles can be rented during information opening hours and allow children to explore the campsite in an entertaining way. The rental price is 20 kr. per trip and the mooncars are available for children of all ages.

Rental bikes

At Grenaa Strand Camping you can easily rent bikes and explore the beautiful nature, beach and city attractions. We offer bikes for both children and adults, so the whole family can come along for the ride. Rent your bike at the reception and make your vacation a little more active!

Playgrounds

At Grenaa Strand Camping we have created a paradise for children with our fantastic playgrounds. Here, little ones can let their imaginations run wild and spend a lot of energy in a safe environment while enjoying outdoor play and fun. Our playgrounds are designed to cater to different age groups, so there’s something for everyone.

Activities outside the camping grounds:

Grenå beach

Grenaa Strand is one of Denmark’s best and most child-friendly beaches, located in Djursland. The 5 km long sandy beach offers shallow, clear water, perfect conditions for families and relaxation. The beach is surrounded by dunes and green areas, creating a scenic setting for activities such as swimming, beach games and walks. Its proximity to Grenaa town and the Kattegat Center makes it a popular destination for excursions.

The Kattegat Centre

The Kattegat Centre is an aquarium located in Grenaa that offers a wealth of experiences for the whole family. With over 200 species of marine animals, including sharks, seals and penguins, visitors can get close to life in the sea. The centre features interactive exhibits and shark feedings. It is an ideal destination for those who want to explore the fascinating world of the sea.

Grenå city

Grenaa is a charming port town in Djursland with approximately 14,000 inhabitants. The town offers one of Denmark’s best beaches, Grenaa Strand, stretching over 5 km of fine sand and shallow water, ideal for families. The Kattegat Center is a popular attraction where visitors can experience sharks and other marine animals up close. The city center has quaint cobbled streets with shops and cafés, as well as Grenaa Church, a Gothic church from the 15th century.

Fishing Grenå harbor

Grenaa Harbor is a popular spot for anglers who want to fish from piers and harbor basins. The area offers catches of species such as cod, mackerel, herring and various flatfish, including dab and flounder. Fishing varies with the season; mackerel is most available from June to September, while flatfish can be caught all year round. It is important to be aware of local conservation zones and minimum sizes for each species.

Museum East Jutland

Museum Østjylland in Grenaa, formerly known as Djurslands Museum, is a cultural history museum located in a historic merchant’s house from the 1700s. The museum offers exhibitions that highlight the history of Djursland from ancient times to the present, including archaeological finds, local art and changing themed exhibitions. Visitors can immerse themselves in the area’s rich cultural heritage through interactive exhibitions and events.

Danish Engine & Machinery Collection

The Danish Engine & Machinery Collection (Dansk Motor- & Maskingsamling) is Northern Europe’s largest collection of historical engines and machinery with over 450 engines, mainly produced in Denmark. The museum highlights the importance of engines for Denmark’s industrialisation and contains everything from agricultural machinery to ship engines. Visitors can experience several of the engines in operation and get a unique insight into how technology developed and shaped modern society.

Scandinavian Wildlife Park

Scandinavian Wildlife Park (Skandinavisk Dyrepark) is an animal park located on Djursland. The park focuses on Scandinavian animal species. The park is home to polar bears, brown bears, wolves and sea eagles, which live in large, natural enclosures. Visitors can experience the animals’ natural behaviour and participate in daily feedings and shows. The park is known for its renowned polar bear enclosure.

Ree Park Safari

Ree Park Safari in Djursland is a unique safari park with over 800 animals from five continents. The park offers exciting experiences such as a Land Rover Safari on the African savannah and a train ride on the American Express through the North American prairie. With rare species such as cheetahs and black rhinos and the opportunity to stay close to the animals, it’s a great destination for the whole family.

Djurs Summerland

Djurs Sommerland is the largest summer park in the Nordic region, located on Djursland in East Jutland. The park offers over 60 rides, including Denmark’s best roller coasters, a large water park and nine themed lands that ensure fun for the whole family. Among the most popular attractions are the Pirate roller coaster and the 60 meter high freefall tower El Grito. Djurs Sommerland has been voted Amusement Park of the Year several times by families with children.

Lübker Golf & Spa Resort

Lübker Golf & Spa Resort in Djursland is known for its 27-hole championship course, designed by Robert Trent Jones II. The golf course is beautifully integrated into nature and offers challenges for both beginners and experienced players. Mols Bjerge (mountains/hills)

Mols Bjerge is a national park on Djursland, known for its dramatic landscape of hills, moors and woodlands. Mols Bjerge is a paradise for hikers and cyclists with many trails offering magnificent views of the coast and the bay of Aarhus.

Kalø Slotsruin

Kalø Slotsruin (Castle Ruin) is the remains of a royal castle from the 14th century, located on a peninsula in Kalø Vig near Rønde. The castle was built in 1313 by King Erik Menved after a Jutland peasant uprising and served as a strategic defense. Today, visitors can explore the impressive ruins and walk along Denmark’s oldest medieval cobbled road connecting the castle to the mainland.

Ebeltoft Gårdbryggeri (Farm Brewery)

Ebeltoft Gårdbryggeri is a family-owned microbrewery located in Mols Bjerge National Park. The brewery produces high-quality hand-brewed beer and sodas made from natural ingredients. Visitors can enjoy tastings in the brewery’s café and taproom, which offers a cosy atmosphere overlooking the water and Jernhatten (a hill called The Iron Hat). There is also the opportunity to buy products to take home.

Ebeltoft

Ebeltoft is an idyllic market town on Djursland, known for its cobbled streets, half-timbered houses and charming harbour environment. The city is home to attractions such as the Glasmuseet Ebeltoft (glass museum), Fregatten Jylland (frigate) and Mols Bjerge National Park, which offers unique nature. Ebeltoft is also popular with tourists for its specialty shops, cafés and annual events, making it a cultural centre on Djursland.

Frigate Jutland

Fregatten Jylland is a historic warship located in Ebeltoft, which now serves as a museum. Built in 1860, the ship participated in the Battle of Helgoland during the 2. Schleswig War in 1864. Visitors can explore the ship’s decks, see the royal saloon and get an insight into seafaring life in the 1800s. The museum offers guided tours, interactive exhibitions and activities for the whole family.

Den Gamle By (The Old Town)

Den Gamle By in Aarhus is a living museum that takes visitors back in time. Here, you can experience authentic urban environments from three centuries: the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. Streets, shops and homes are decorated as they were then, and historical characters bring the past to life. The museum also offers interactive experiences such as workshops and exhibitions, making it a popular destination.

Fishing at Kolindsund Kanal

Kolindsund Kanal on Djursland is one of Denmark’s most productive fishing waters, especially known for sea trout fishing. The canal is divided into the North and South Canal, with the North Canal being the most popular among anglers. In addition to sea trout, you can catch pike, perch, bream and eel. Fishing is allowed from the dams in the North and South Canal and Grenåen, while it is prohibited in the Middle Canal.

Fishing Sangstrup and Karlby Klint

Sangstrup and Karlby Klint on the north coast of Djursland are popular destinations for anglers, especially known for sea trout fishing all year round. The impressive limestone cliffs, which rise up to 17 meters above sea level, create unique fishing conditions with a varied seabed consisting of rocks and limestone flakes. Offshore winds are ideal for clear water as onshore winds can cloud the water. Parking is available at the small fishing house near the cliffs.

Det Grønne Museum (The Green Museum)

Det Grønne Museum (The Green Museum) is Denmark’s national museum for hunting, forestry, agriculture and food culture, located in Auning on Djursland. The museum offers interactive exhibitions, historical kitchens and a living presentation of the country’s green cultural heritage. Visitors can experience farm animals, fields and kitchen gardens as well as participate in cooking activities in Madens Hus (The House of Food). The museum is a merger of the Danish Hunting and Forestry Museum and the Danish Agricultural Museum.

Tivoli Friheden

Tivoli Friheden is an amusement park located in the heart of Aarhus, surrounded by scenic surroundings. The park offers a wide range of rides, from adrenaline-filled roller coasters like Himmelrum and Vindfald to child-friendly attractions in Bille By. In addition, Tivoli Friheden hosts concerts, theater performances and has a varied selection of eateries, making it a popular destination for the whole family.

ARoS Art Museum

ARoS Art Museum in Aarhus is one of Northern Europe’s largest art museums and is known for the iconic rainbow installation Your Rainbow Panorama by Olafur Eliasson, which provides a colorful view of the city. Randers Regnskov

Randers Regnskov is a tropical zoo located in Randers, where visitors can experience the warm, humid climate and sounds of the rainforest. The Rediscovered Bridge

Himmelbjerget (Sky Mountain)

The Hjejlen

Hjejlen is the world’s oldest coal-fired paddle steamer in operation and has sailed on the Silkeborg Lakes since 1861. The ship offers a unique experience through the beautiful nature of Søhøjlandet and is part of Hjejleselskab’s fleet of nine historic boats. Together they give more than 135,000 guests the opportunity to enjoy Silkeborg from the sea every year.
